Engraving

W.J. Sanders has always ensured that any engraving undertaken has been both consistent in style and is that of the highest standard, whether it is one persons name on a trophy, or a coat of arms on a very expensive silver platter.

We undertake the yearly engraving and maintenance of many trophies and shields for clubs, schools and other institutions throughout NSW. We also engrave a large range of silverware including christening mugs, watches, engagement and wedding rings for the jewellery trade.

Our engraver is not limited to engraving metal only - and is frequently involved in "on premise" retail promotion inscribing dedications on such things as perfume bottles, expensive liqueurs and hand bags as well as engraving "on site" at sporting events or business award ceremonies.

Other Skills - Hand Chasing, Repousse, Etching

Repousse is the technique in which a malleable metal is ornamented or shaped by hammering from the reverse side. There are few techniques that offer such diversity of expression. Chasing is the opposite technique to Repousse and the two are used in conjunction to create a finished piece. It is also known as embossing.
