Australiana Restoration

Some of Australia's most unique and collectable silver pieces are those crafted by early Australian silversmith's using both the egg's of emu's and ostriches. Such pieces were designed and used as goblets, tankard's, ornate trophies, jewelry and condiment caskets, inkwells, candlesticks - or sometimes, just table decorations.

Famous names such as H Steiner, William Edwards and J M Wendt were renowned during the mid to late 1800's for creating fabulous pieces, many adorned with Aboriginal figures, Australian wildlife and exotic fauna- and sometimes egg's. In recent times the Silversmith's of W.J. Sanders have had pleasure of working on egg pieces made or inspired by these great craftsman.

The accompanying slides give a small representation of our skill's in the restoration of some valuable Australiana collectables.
